The return of the gray

No, not a UFO story.  Just our November weather.  Forecast for the rest of the week seems to be "All of the above."  Maybe snow, maybe rain, maybe wind, maybe glances of the sun or moon depending on the hour...

In the "I hate getting old" department -- my quadriceps muscles didn't like the crouching I did when adjusting the snowblower carburetor.  Still complaining.

When does "cutting edge" really mean "bleeding edge"?

I note that "Kindle Editions" are available for a couple of my books, on the new Amazon e-book reader.  I assume* these are licensed by the Nice Folks at Ace.  May send a note off to Nice Agent Lady, just to make sure.

*We're all familiar with the derivation of the word "assume", aren't we?

Greasy

Not dinner, which was a couple of bowls of most savory pea soup.  No, the roads and sidewalks and parking lots of our fair village.

This would be a good night to stay home.  We didn't get much snow, just a thin layer of slush, and it has stopped now.  But this initiates the annual ritual of remedial training for winter driving, in which people discover just what a little bit of ice does to the coefficient of friction.  And that good traction here doesn't necessarily mean that the next curve or stop will present duplicate conditions...
