Whether 'tis nobler to weather the slings and arrows of outrageous Zephyr or turn into a rutabaga.
Or have we left rutabagas behind, in moving from alt.callahans to a new venue? Do we need a new iconic vegetable?
Anyway, about 2 F this morning, -17 C, and less wind. Although our house still shivers with the occasional gust. I may yet manage another ski outing. Since the last snowfall included some freezing rain, I would do the city forest loop widdershins rather than sunwise -- the latter involves a downhill turn that gets dicey on cross-country skis and ice. For those in the audience who only know downhill skiing, cross-country skis do not have metal edges.
Some attractive frost patterns on our windows this morning, feathers and curly fern fronds and arrow-straight sequoias in miniature. Also a line that zipped along vertically for about six inches and then degenerated into short-track doodles.
And 'tis a poor spellcheck that does not recognize "widdershins." Or "'tis," for that matter.
