I'd been planning another ski run today, maybe do the full four-mile loop out at the city forest. But the wind, the wind...

Serious gusts out there, and temperatures in the mid-teens F. Wife gave me that Look when I mentioned my plans, you know, the lifted eyebrow that threatens a sanity hearing?

Am I a man or a mouse, that's the question. I've skied in worse. I've also been younger.

As the wind howls and rattles various bits of house...

I may have sounded a bit ... casual ... about that skiing decision. Thing with Maine winter weather is, it can turn from annoying to life-threatening in about five minutes. We get reminders of that every year, newspapers and TV and such, people applying for Darwin Awards.

Supposed to be less wind tomorrow.
