Amusing (sorta) conditions for the noon news. Digital reception was shitty, with so many dropouts and freezes that the information content approached zero. Analog reception on the same channels remained usable. Since TV represents a major communications system for emergency situations, this may be a problem in the future.
(A couple of stations are off the air, both analog and digital signals.)
In the actual news, I did extract the information that somewhere in excess of 500,000 people are without power in Maine and New Hampshire. Since I am posting to LJ, we do not seem to be numbered in that statistic.

Date: 2008-12-12 05:49 pm (UTC)I had stopped by my place this morning in town.. no power loss there. Not surprising given how close to downtown we are.. we rarely seem to get flickers.
