Drizzle out there.  A forecast of rain, then possible mix, with wind.

And, on the brainwashing front, I misread a headline just a little bit ago.  The type said "Volkswagen."  What I read?  "Vorkosigan..."

Was that the, "Vorkosigan overtakes Exxon," headline?

No, it was something like "Vorkosigan boosts DAX" -- referring to the German stock exchange. Which pulls in a Trek DS9 image as well.

And, off on a tangent, sorry about posting a downer comment on your Galveston bit. It's just, my job (both as architect and as Board of Appeals member) is saying "No, you can't do that!" to paying customers. "That" includes building in flood plains and within "coastal zoning", because of things like, well, hurricanes.

Of course, then the county goes and builds the new courthouse right in a flood plain next to a tidal river . . .

Yeah, leading horses to water, and all that.

I understood what you were trying to say, and I agree with it. But when people are seeing a town they associate with loved ones and fond memories get washed away by the storm, they're unlikely to be dispassionate. So I kind of understand Anne's ire too.

Well, in this case we're trying to lead the horses *away* from water . . .
