It's just, my job (both as architect and as Board of Appeals member) is saying "No, you can't do that!" to paying customers. "That" includes building in flood plains and within "coastal zoning", because of things like, well, hurricanes.
Of course, then the county goes and builds the new courthouse right in a flood plain next to a tidal river . . .

Date: 2008-10-28 01:32 pm (UTC)I understood what you were trying to say, and I agree with it. But when people are seeing a town they associate with loved ones and fond memories get washed away by the storm, they're unlikely to be dispassionate. So I kind of understand Anne's ire too.
