Well, that indispensable resource, the internet, says that the plane left and arrived at its intended destination. We have not received any phone calls from family unit requesting retrieval from the airport. Logical assumption, family unit was on plane. Therefore, whatever happens from now is Someone Else's Problem.

Warmer today, and less wind. We got a walk in, around the neighborhood. The same slackers who left garbage to be scattered by the storm also do not shovel (or plow or snow-blow) their sections of sidewalk. Civic virtue, not to mention personal responsibility, seems to be vanishing from the species.

This goes hand-in-hand with the current political mania of "every man for himself and himself only". It's the idea that you owe anything to your neighbors, or to society as a whole, that's gone missing. If your neighbor needs help, that's HIS lookout, not your problem. Any why should you GIVE anything to society when your leaders tell you only to take, take, take?
