Not yet snowing

Still forecast 8" to 12" of snow from the Northeaster coming up the coast.  Younger Son's area seems to be targeted for a bit above that, but projected snowfall totals seem to morph from one forecast to the next, so in'shallah...

Meanwhile, school superintendents have canceled classes in a broad swath of territory that still shows dry roads.  That's why they get paid the big bucks.

It just started snowing down in Mass maybe four hours ago. Pretty heavily, I hear told.

The bloke who mentioned it, commented that the night before, pretty late, his wife had gotten a call telling her her office was going to be closed the following day 'cause of the weather.

Of course he gets to work! :D

Hmm.. and lots of fire trucks racing by...

Wife just beat the snow for her morning rounds -- small flakes when she came out of the store, large fat stuff by the time she got home.

Remind me of today when I begin complaining of the heat this summer. It was 46F when I left for work, clear and summer. It will probably reach the high 60s low 70s today.

I got about eight inches of typical New England heavy wet cement; it's tapering off as I type. It does a nice job of covering the remnant piles left from the record-setting December snowfall, along with covering the bare ground left from the record-setting January thaw.

It also does a nice job of dropping tree limbs onto power lines. Fortunately, none of the affected power lines supply my abode; the midday news reported that some thirty-five thousand others were not so lucky.
