For those who track such _rara avis_, John was alive and well when I dropped him off on the Colby College campus this afternoon. Excellent chat over sandwiches, in which we discovered a geographical congruence at a small lake in Michigan. Also left some books in his custody.

He didn't bring That Cat. Some difficulty with airport security, I believe, a problem with carrying lethal weapons on all four paws.

Thank her for me. Writing is such an isolationist activity that I am thrilled when I hear that the story clicked for somebody.
