Life in the slow lane

Air temperature 64 F, wind south about 7 mph, rain showing on the radar but not yet reaching the ground. If you want anyone to blame for weird weather anywhere in the USA, this is the weekend of amateur radio "Field Day" where operators made of sterner stuff than me are out setting up portable radio stations and testing emergency preparations. I'm staying home.

Down at the end of our block, heard what sounded like a loon's alarm call. I'd write it off to a mockingbird, but it was only repeated twice, with no other calls before or after. Just passing through?

Anyway, met up with Ms. Sasha and also cataloged some storm damage from that squall that rumbled through the other day.
