Sunday critter report
Jul. 9th, 2023 01:01 pmAt least four wild turkey adults in that dormant construction site where I saw geese weeks ago. Weeds too tall for me to see any poults running around. Also, mockingbirds singing here and there.
Roadkill was a couple of gray squirrels, some bloody splotches on the asphalt, and either someone's kitty or a dark-furred woodchuck. As I was going about 25 mph on a downhill at that point, ID remains tentative.
First goldenrod blooming, bellflowers, what might have been false indigo in a ditch. Bicycle botany is also tentative.
Rode across town, over by the airport/base with no interesting metal birds, home past turkeys and flowers. Nasty out there, air temperature 79 F and dew point 69. Did not die.
