Just had the term "counted cross-stitch" pop up in my head, with no apparent trigger. It's something my mother used to do, but any such reference would be multiple decades old . . .

Changing times again

Crew removing the pumps and tanks of yet another neighborhood gas station, this being where we filled up our cars for several decades, with an owner who knew us by sight and who actually serviced cars. That's at least six stations shut down within easy walking distance. Economy moving.

Within half an hour of mowing, one of the buttercups has a bloom open an inch above the cutting height.
