Dank morning again

Air temperature 60 F, wind NW about 5 mph, sky clearing but taking its own sweet time. Should be able to get out on the bike after roads dry off. Meanwhile, Dorian he jes sit dere . . .

We are not amused

I know it is just wishful thinking, but dumping a hurricane on the Dumpster's Florida resort involves a hell of a lot of collateral damage . . .

Tuesday gray report

First cattail heads popping fluff, more asters, a few more maple leaves turning. Autumn approaches, under damp skies.

Avian roadkill this time, one crow and one probable ruffed grouse. We *hope* it was a grouse -- only other choice in that size and color would be a hawk. Couldn't see the head to be sure.

Still overcast with untrustworthy clouds, but I got out on the bike and didn't get rained on. Did not die.

Item on the NPR morning news, about how the Pope is going to east Africa and will preach tolerance. And I have been muttering to myself all day about how many religions only preach tolerance when they don't hold power . . .
