Autumnal morning

Air temperature 51 F, wind near calm, patchy fog under clear sky. I'm back to waiting for a few more degrees before getting out on the bike.

Motorcycles stink

This is not figurative language. No emissions controls. One Harley smells worse than a dozen Ford pickups. This observation brought to you by the morning bike ride.

Both common and moth mullein blooming, white and yellow water lilies in streams, jewel weed, goldenrod. Unfortunate amounts of ragweed and purple loosestrife. Some patches of day-lilies still full of flowers.

No roadkill seen. Odd not-roadkill, a couple of trailer-loads of military Humvees headed south, probably just off the refab line up at the old air base in northern Maine.

Got out on the bike, temperature about 60 F and a bit of wind, did not die.
