Air temperature 38 F, wind west about 5 mph, scattered clouds. Roads are drying off, and I can hear the city street-sweeper working on the winter mess. Maybe bike ride this afternoon?

Trout lily leaves up but no flowers yet, some forsythia blooming in town, wood frogs quacking in the marshes, a few skunk cabbages showing along the road through the bog. Probable roadkill muskrat, but that was on the other side of the road and well past its prime.

Temperature vaulted up to 53 F with wind gusting over 20 mph, got out on the bike, did not die. Completed 15 mile local loop.

Had a hermit thrush hanging around our side yard all afternoon, including a while where it just stood in our driveway for minutes at a time. Resting and digesting, to move on north tonight? And a veery, this morning.
