Feathered storm
Feb. 10th, 2009 08:31 amFlock of redpolls again this morning, some number in the "lots" range. Snow under the feeders crawling with fluttering pecking bodies, aerial squabbles, continual turnover at the perches, the whole meghilla.
Every now and then, a chickadee would dart through the swarm and nab a seed from our small "satellite" feeder and zip back up into the tree to peck it open.
