It's official

The National Weather Service has confirmed that -50 F reading from the remote Great North Woods, so we have a new all-time record low for the state.  This places us in a tie with Vermont for Coldest Spot in New England, a dubious honor.

And along the lines of "cold", we have added a harp seal to all those boreal birds erupting from the Canadian wilds.  I guess he/she needed a break from Newfoundland winter.

And spell-check doesn't recognize "boreal."  Maybe that's a subtle hint.
