Raining

This would be the coastal storm rain, not Kyle rain. Much of a muchness, as the saying goes. Though we have warm, with morning temperature around 60 F, which would argue for a tropical origin of this air.

Speaking of warm, turned up the thermostat yesterday (boo, hiss) and nothing happened (booing and hissing increases markedly in volume.) Called service contract folks, now have new oil burner motor in place. Better to learn this in September than in January .. .

Spin spin spin

Published estimates of the relative performance by protagonists in last night's debate seem to reflect pre-existing conditions . . .

Didn't watch it. Can't stand watching STP-grade slickness on both sides, don't think either party is fielding a ticket I can support without deep reservations.

Bound for Hell or Halifax

Canadian Maritimes interests should note that Kyle seems to be aiming his little eye at Yarmouth and thence into Fundy, which puts such locales as Halifax on the windier side of the storm. Projected for Sunday.

Technicalities

We're technically under a "tropical storm watch" at this point. "Hurricane watch" starts east of us. And neither means much of anything until we get a better fix on Kyle's intent . . .
