Sunday roadkill report
Aug. 3rd, 2008 12:39 pmSquirrel, blue jay, crow, garter snake, all extremely flat. Not much to show for those miles of asphalt. At least, no bike tires in the list.
Gray morning, but I consulted with the green globs on the weather radar and decided I had a couple of hours before those clouds started to piss on us. Headed upriver, across, and down the other side, same ride I did last Sunday. Got back across and into town before the first scattered showers hit. Now dark, rumbledy, with flood watches and other joys.
Neighbor hailed me when I got back, told me that they had two bikes stolen from their yard last night. Glad I keep ours locked up in the garage . . .
(Edit: I've grumbled to myself about people leaving bikes out in the weather, not because of theft but because of rust. Equipment abuse. The few times I've ended up biking in the rain, my chain has rusted in spite of lube.)
