Okay, woke up well before sunrise this morning to a noticeable absence.  Call me a silly worry-wort, but I spent an hour mentally chewing my fingernails because I didn't hear Wife coughing from the front bedroom, after an all-night siege.  Then she got up and coughed and all was right with the world...

Snowing now.  We still expect 6-10" and then a break and then MOTS.

This damned bug can go away anytime now.

That list sets the "privilege" bar in some funny places.  For one thing, it assumes you have a home.  I can guarantee you that is not a given, even in the USA, and represents a major form of privilege in itself.

Somewhere around 8" of the fluffy white stuff, cleared off driveway and walks and steps and cars.  I may now drive Wife over to one of those 24-hour healthcare places to see if they offer any useful lore.

Still forecasting MOTS for tomorrow.

Well, I just checked the BBC World Service site for broadcast frequencies, and as far as I can tell, we will not be ringing in the GMT New Year's with the chimes of Big Ben on my ancient Hallicrafters.

The BBC, of all people, should have more respect for tradition.

Anyway, happy GMT/UCT New Year's, folks.  No way are we staying up for the local time zone version.
