The calm before the storm

Snow Plow Guy stopped by at the nature center yesterday, scouting out their parking lot for Armageddon.  Admonished Wife that they had not yet flagged certain scenic boulders that could wreak havoc on his plow, hadn't moved a picnic table out of the plow-berm zone, stuff like that needing either hammers or large males to accomplish.  I may have a trip out there in my afternoon schedule.

Morning weather twerp now puts our location in the 12"-14" snow zone.  I suspect they still don't have a clue as to the exact path the storm will take, and we may get rain or an ice-storm instead, after all this buildup.  Nothing supposed to happen here until tonight.

Meanwhile, it does my Underdog heart good to see more chaos in the top ranks of college football.  The ranking system sucks, anyway.

Still awaiting the Perfect Storm.  Turns out that Wife did manage to communicate with the nature center's fill-in* caretaker via answering machine, so that stakes marking this and that have appeared around the parking lot and ornamental boulders.  The picnic table has moved.  I did not need to risk bodily integrity, etc., etc.

*This being the root cause of the Great Unreadiness -- the normal guy (John1) being off in Australia at this time, we are relying on John2 for the care and maintenance of the site.
