Sunny again

Sunshine two days in a row.  I think I may faint.

Don't let it trick you, though.  Temperature is 18 F with a stiff wind.  Ice on the puddles, and grass crunchy underfoot.

And the song of the chainsaw shall be heard in the land.  Some neighbor has decided that oil prices have gone too far.  Time for firewood.

Okay, so I'm a shallow person

 When I get forty or fifty pages into a book and still don't know what the story is, I'm inclined to walk away.  I know I should be intrigued by the mystery, but...

That's right up there with "I don't care what happens to these people."  Which the author is also skirting.
