Thursday roadkill report
Jun. 21st, 2007 11:05 amOne dead crow by the roadside, out near the bog. I can't be sure this counts as real roadkill, or a manifestation of the West Nile virus plague -- no obvious damage. However, if I don't jack up the roadkill numbers, I'm gonna have to start counting squirrels. Talk about cheap thrills...
Partly cloudy, breezy, temperature in the 60s F. Obviously bicycle time. More blue flag iris out in the ditches, looking like somebody planted them. Green frogs going glug-glug in the bog. Idiots yelling at bicyclists from passing cars. Up yours, with fishhooks.

Reminder -- Maine Festival of the Book
Jun. 21st, 2007 11:11 amIf any of you want to see me make a total ass of myself, I will be on a "Fantasy Writers Panel" on Sunday, all the way to hell and gone off in Portland, Maine.
Dramatis personae: Kristen Britain, Karen Jordon Allen, Noreen Doyle, James Hetley
Moderator: Gibran Graham (Borders Books)
Date/time: 2:30 - 3:45 PM, Sunday, June 24, 2007
Maine College of Art, Room 207
522 Congress St., Portland, Maine
As I have never tried to be a Public Author Person before, and have never met several of the people with whom I will be paneling, this has the potential to be really grim. Or amusing, depending on whether you are in the audience or on the panel...
