Temperature supposed to approach 60 F today -- Momma Nature is committing unnatural acts. But we will pay for it with an abrupt plunge back to normal or below, over the weekend. Maybe snow, maybe not. Depends on whether we are located in the mountains, in northern Maine, or along the coast this time.

Going by the locations in the weather forecasts, compared with actual weather, plate tectonics would seem to have accelerated...

For maybe the zillionth time, we have news about another murder splashed around the local media. A "domestic", offspring of one of the warring partners, this time.

Somewhere in excess of 50% of all homicides in Maine are "domestics". I believe this statistic is normal for the nation.

We've _got_ to outlaw those domestic partnerships. Don't care if folks are legally wedded or living in sin, don't care if the "relationship" is monogamous, polygamous, heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual. This carnage must _stop_.

Ban all relationships. Save the partner, save the world.

...period.

I have not yet received my copy of November's LOCUS magazine, which allegedly contains Information Important To My Life. As in, a review of DRAGON'S TEETH.

Apparently that issue has traveled by turtle all throughout this great land, as Nice Agent Lady emailed news that _she_ had just seen it, with the following quote:

"Back in January, I discussed James Hetley's fantasy Dragon's Eye along with several other books that would make intelligent "beach reading," adventures with a certain cinematic flair and strong characterization that set them apart from mindless entertainment even as they thoroughly entertain.... The sense of psychological realism in Dragon's Teeth ultimately helps resolve important issues that the faster-paced first book had left hanging, as it deftly entwines the uncanny with what we tend to dismiss too blithely as the everyday."

And a congratulatory followup message from Nice Editor Lady sayeth that she hath seen it not.

As Great A'tuin plods along through the starfields...
