SNAFU

Or, as Wife puts it, why I put up with the publishing industry -- I'm used to insanity in the day job.

Got a call last night from the engineer who is managing that remodeling project across the river -- he wouldn't be able to make this morning's meeting, as he was "overbooked" and could I take over as iron-fisted tyrant? I, of course, seek absolute power wherever I can find it, so I agreed. Got there this morning. Guy from state housing authority, necessary signature for pay requsition, didn't show -- cell phone call -- he thought meeting was rescheduled. Lady from the client's office, person who can sign pay requisitions for _them_, couldn't show. Meeting adjourned for lack of a quorum.

We scheduled this meeting over a month ago. At least I bill that project on an hourly basis....

So now I go back to writing. Fat Wizard may have just spotted Evil Nemesis at the park. (Cue "Some Enchanted Evening.")
