In the midst of life...

Just received an email from my sister to the effect that one of our (rare and scattered) first-cousins-in-law died just before Christmas. You can guess, from the length of time required for the news to filter through, that we weren't close. As in, I last saw him ten or fifteen years ago.

Still, this represents Death reaching his bony finger out to _our_ generation, dammit. That's not nice.

Some one of these years, I am going to have to internalize the scary fact (indisputable, but not comfortable) that I am getting old.
