The little bugger seems to think it moved four miles overnight. It got the newspaper walk distance okay this morning, though one leg to and from on the same sidewalk shows rather different vectors. And the elevation calculations varied from 60' to 260' along a walk that is essentially level (and around 100' above MSL.)

May be able to try out the toy on a bike ride later -- the sun has shown its face.

One fresh porcupine out on the road through the bog.

Warmed up enough (low 50s F*) that I took the GPS unit out for a ride. It seemed to do a decent job, logging 15.2 miles against the bike odometer's 15.31 -- and the total GPS log turned 15.3 when I brought it inside, so it had probably registered within a couple of hundredths of the One True Mileage. The Maple Street Anomaly strikes again, though, with a different vector for the block headed out and headed back. Maybe we should check for black monoliths buried in the back yard.

*Three cheers for Polartec fleece jackets!
