There and back again

I wish to report a minor miracle -- with three witnesses, even. We arrived within 10 minutes of schedule and our luggage arrived on the same plane. And the planes and airports presented nothing more than the norm of unpleasantness.

Why do I come home to a news story about tons of FEMA emergency ice being stored in friggin' MAINE? With refrigerated trucks parked for days waiting to unload at a cold storage warehouse?

Hey, folks, park some tank trucks full of water outside here and wait a month or two. You'll have enough ice.

About that "breathlessly anticipating" bit in the book review. Breathe, folks, breathe. We can't afford to lose any readers. The sequel isn't due out until November _2006._
