More signs of spring
Apr. 5th, 2005 11:10 amThe back steps reach an intermediate stage of ground-thaw, where the front edge has thawed and the back hasn't, so the steps rock like a teeter-totter. Now they have settled into summer configuration.
River open at the hospital narrows, ice-out down to the sea.
Definite blossoms on the silver maple a few houses down.
Neighbor has set out clothes-line tree and has hung drying laundry on same. Cat supervising.
And no rain. This, in itself, is noteworthy. Bike ride this morning.
In other news, got an invitation to a free lunch and investment talk in today's mail -- addressed to my mother. She died several years back, and never lived at this address....
40 minutes, 7 miles approx.
