The snowplow did come by again in the night. I sally forth to do battle with the residue. May ski later, depending on windchill -- temp about 0 F this morning.

Will also get out on the dining room and sunporch roofs today, to remove driftage there. If you don't hear from me for a week or so, tell Wife to check the drop zone....

You know, I was going to reply back to the other post saying something like "Well, I heard the price of helicopters is becoming more affordable" and wouldn't you know it, somehow that came up in a pre-meeting conversation this morning. Apparently personal (2-seater) helicoptors actually are becoming more affordable.

Keep in mind that a helicopter can not only take off and land vertically, thus avoiding the effects of all but the most evil and malicious snowplow operator, but can also be used as an Extreme Leafblower, which, of course, can also be used to clear large areas of snow fairly quickly.

Alas, a helipad would stretch the confines of our lot beyond the boundaries. We live right in town, where old houses stand cheek by jowl and stare in each other's windows.

Neighbors might object to the noise, as well.

Well, if you get fed up with the plow, you could always move to Bethlehem, PA. They tend not to plow, and, if they do so, they wait until the snow is over and everyone has been out driving, so that the snow packs down into thick sheets that become ice. Not that you'd ever (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ellyssian/20515.html) catch me complaining (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ellyssian/22241.html).
