Okay, so I'm a wimp

Got suited up to go get the newspaper this morning. Found I couldn't open the back door because of snowdrift. Decided newspaper could wait until the snow stopped and I deployed snowblower. Fixed coffee and came upstairs to computer and checked on back edge of snow line on the weather radar loop.

One of these years, I'm going to pay somebody else to deal with that stuff.

I took care to move snow from in front of the door to the deck last night...
by this morning most of the deck was featureless 11 or 12 inch plateau of white stuff, falling off around the outer edges, and deeper against the house and door. So much for planning ahead...

So, Rolanni set the time for ten minutes and I took the first run at the white stuff a little while ago -- got the door open, cleaned a line to the edge of the deck where i can just about reach two of the bird feeders, then pushed snow off the side of the stairs, cleared down the stairs, and partial paths to both vehicles. Partial paths because in some places the foot of new snow was distributed three feet deep and in some three inches deep... and in windy 10 or 12 degree weather (-12 C, and windchills of -12 F)I just made it so we can get to the car and truck if the plow guy shows up soon. Else, I'll go out again in an hour and clean windshields and such since this whole mess started with freezing rain, which still pebbles everything under the snow.
