Slip-sliding away
Feb. 17th, 2005 08:36 amIce worse this morning, slipped multiple times on my way for the newspaper* and actually fell once. Wet. Could play hockey on some of the parking lots. I _thought_ I'd get more than two ski outings out of two feet of fresh snow, but guess not.
*Yeah, I could get the fish-wrapper delivered to our very own front door, but I prefer my morning walk. Even on ice. It's that spice of danger that reminds you of mortality and encourages carpe diem behavior.

Date: 2005-02-17 08:31 am (UTC)No worries, there. Green Man Review is the bomb! I wish I had about a million hours to get through all the stuff they post about over there.
The "Highwayman" reference, besides giving props to a poem I love, is a nod to my partner (http://www.packrabbitpress.com), who... well, it's a long story, but let's just say that the whole moonlight-though-hell-should-bar-the-way thing was apropos. :) "E. Bess" is a nickname I've had for years and he just ran with it.
I love all the talk of snow and sleet and plows and snowblowers on your journal. Reminds me of home. And the Subaru! Of course, my family had several over the years. I never did ski, though; spent too much time figure skating instead. At the Alfond Arena! It has changed a lot since then.
