My father told me, long ago* in a discussion of Presbyterian theology and faith versus works:
"One of the few ways we can make the world a better place is by behaving decently toward strangers."
Applies to a lot of things, including the internet.
*Has to have been long and long, as he died over thirty years ago.

Date: 2009-03-09 08:42 pm (UTC)This is a good thing, and I think it's something that most of the people I've encountered in my life do. What's also a good thing is if people behave decently toward their neighbors and casual acquaintances. For some reason a lot of people seem to find it easier to behave decently toward strangers than toward the people they interact with regularly.
