Okay, amateur radio operators exchange things called QSL cards, which are postcards providing written confirmation (for awards and such) of two-way radio contacts.  Give frequency, signal reports, etc, etc.

Just today, received one from a Japanese station.  For a contact made in 1988.

For me, yes. I have no idea when the card was actually mailed, as I got it through a "bureau" run by the national ham radio club rather than by direct mail from Japan. But it has been floating around out there long enough to get yellowed edges . . .
