Listening to a concert on NPR/MPBN, they're playing Copeland's "Appalachian Spring." And the conductor is managing to make it sound ponderous. Or, as Wife put it, he's turning dances into an oompah band.
Well, at least they've managed to put a little "lyrical" back in, for the "Simple Gifts" theme.
