Apparently. As a "free account," I'm in no position to complain about the service, but the withdrawal pangs really had me twitching....

I wasn't twitching, but that's because I had books to read.

I just bought The Summer Country, so your ten cents or whatever you get from a sale should reach you in the next check. Since that isn't enough, I thought I'd find a way to tell you that it's a great book, and that now that I have money, I'm reserving some for The Winter Oak.

Well, book sales are a social good, as the economists would say. If you bought one of the Ace editions, I should get a whopping 6% of the cover price. Eventually. Publishing, as noted elsewhere, tends to move at a glacial pace. This particularly applies to money flows....

On the other hand, if you bought the SFBC edition, I'll get half of whatever Ace gets from the SFBC, and I don't have a clue what that might be. Publishing is also opaque.

But thanks for buying the book. Recommending it to friends will earn good karma points, as well!

*grin* Me too. It *really* screwed with the rhythm of my day. Which is, I suppose, truly sad, but there ya go.
