Item on NPR "Morning Edition" today, interviews with a couple of Hillary delegates. One of them is giving serious thought to voting McCain. Says she's never voted Republican before . . .

(A "spite fence" is a Maine term, a fence or hedge put up for the sole purpose of spoiling your neighbor's "view" even if it damages your own. We can reach Afghan levels in our multi-generational feuds.)

Date: 2008-08-26 02:30 pm (UTC)1) NPR has been corrupted. I no longer trust what they say if the topic is a Republican talking point.
2) During the caucus process here in Texas, I talked to a fair number of female Clinton supporters who set off my "crossover" alarm. No, I'm not surprised that the media could find one woman who'd cut off her nose to spite her face, nor that she'd be the one given most prominence -- it's a Republican talking point, after all. But I continue to think that the 30% figure is either pulled out of their ass, or made up primarily of Republican crossovers who can now honestly say that they're going to vote for McCain because they'd have done it anyhow, after first making their sabotage run on the Democrats.
