The guy at the beer tent didn't really have to laugh when I asked if he needed ID.

(Probably didn't help the issue a bit that my hat is old enough to drink, an Aussie army bush hat acquired before the fall of Saigon . . .)

I was out with my mother at a place in Alexandria, Virginia that had a large clientele of teens and twenties (but good food and drink.) They had a "we card everybody" policy. My mother was the only one of the three of us who ordered any liquor, and when she did, the waitress asked for id.

My mother laughed and laughed and laughed over that. This was a couple of months ago - she's 84.
