Sunday roadkill report
Aug. 17th, 2008 01:22 pmCouple of porcupines, well aged, a raccoon, snake, frogs, and a skunk. The first indisputable roadkill skunk of the bike season, something of a noteworthy event seeing as this is the middle of August and just shy of a thousand road miles. Also a broad trail of antifreeze leading to a shiny red Corvette beached by the side of the road. I hope that just represents a burst hose . . .
Headed upriver and then inland, first time over this route this year because it loops around one of the local lakes. I don't try it unless I can count on the weather holding for a few hours, because there ain't no shortcuts home. And, as Wife has pointed out, we haven't had the prospect of reliable rain-free hours for about a month and a half.
