I was trying to figure out why the "intellicast" weather radar didn't agree with what I saw out the window.  Then noted that the frame was from 0600 GMT.  Which, -4 hours, means 0200 EDT, or more than 7 hours out of date.  While weather.com and accuweather.com are up-to-time...0930 EDT for both.

Grrr.  Intellicast isn't frozen, it updates but is keeping a long lag.  Are they trying to get us to pay for the service?

This is why I use wunderground.com. They poll personal weather stations and one of our neighbours has one so I get the weather as it is happening here instead of out at the airport.

Our airport and official weather station are only a couple of miles away, which I consider adequate.

After checking the wunderground site, the only closer station is located in the stream valley and likely less accurate for our use.

I've noticed up to a 10 degree F difference and definite precipitation reporting differences between us and the airport and the airport is only 4 miles away.

Oh, yeah, the distance gives us differences. But the only closer station is run by the MDOT, and it monitors for frost on the Interstate bridge over the downtown stream. Switches the warning lights on.

That's about a mile closer, but different conditions and altitude.
