Okay, yet again somebody has posted something on my "friends list" that totally fucks the display line-length.  Have to scroll halfway to New Hampshire in order to read each line, then back again to start the next . . .

Yeah, that can be pretty frustrating. I try really hard not to do this, myself. This is what lj-cut tags are for.

Typically, it's either a large graphic or a loooooong URL.

If it's the former, and you can scroll down and find the picture, right-clicking on the image should give you a "block images from this server" option that will make it go away. The only risk is that it will block *other* images from the same server - so if the image is hosted on Flickr, for instance, you'd miss all my kitty pix. (-;

For the URL thing, I usually just refer the offender to TinyURL ...

Happened to me, too. Wonder if it's the same poster.

I switched back to the old page style system, which took care of the problem. I'll switch back in a day or so.

It's varkat's chat transcript. I have the same problem, and if you navigate to her LJ to see the post directly you'll see that so does she.

Crap! It didn't fix the problem.

But at least it's confined to one page.

I've found that the problem vanishes when the last offending post scrolls off the page. Which hasn't happened for me yet. Need more "friends" posts . . .
