Tuesday roadkill report

One half-grown woodchuck, belly up by the side of the road but no visible damage, one porcupine about a mile further, pretty well splattered. Also an identifiable bullfrog and numerous frog-sized blood splots. I was thinking, after the porcupine, that I haven't seen or smelled a roadkill skunk yet this year. Wonder what happened to the population -- I'm pretty sure they haven't gotten any smarter.
Got out on the bike early, but not early enough to benefit from the overnight clouds. Not much new in the way of wildflowers, but the rhododendrons and roses have exploded into bloom with this heat. Lilacs, on the other hand, have finished their run.
Took it easy, respecting the heat and air quality, or lack of same.
