The wind did not relent.  Instead, I proved that my stubbornness knows no bounds, and went for a ride anyway.  Temperature in the mid 50s F, so that aspect was marginal, as well.

No roadkill to report.  Not-roadkill includes spring peepers out in the bog, and a woodchuck surveying the cemetery.

The upwind leg took me about eight minutes longer than it should have.  Downwind home went faster, but the two never balance out.  Such is the metaphysical side of cycling.

The metaphysical part comes in because my route is a loop, with different wind exposures and crosswind sections, rather than a straight out-and-back. Even on the couple of miles of duplicated road, wind exposure is different between the two directions -- one side of the road has more shelter than the other...
