Watching the morning commuters out in freezing drizzle, me tucked up in the house with a warm computer and a warmer radiator.
Net accumulation of precip so far totals maybe an inch, inch and a half. But you know how it is with the average driver. Give 'em a coffee break and you have to retrain 'em. Nobody remembers how to drive on snow and ice.
The word for the day is "slow."

Date: 2004-12-08 03:21 pm (UTC)Rolanni did the first bit about breaking ice off the birdfeeders; I just got back in from a more general ice-breaking/snow removing run so there's a path for the UPS/FEDEX/USPS deliveries we're hoping for. Also did a refill on some of the birdseed and cleaned out the perch-fills on the three tube feeder.
So far today, at least one of each: tufted titmouse, bluejays, chickadee, finch, purple finch, downy woodpecker, dove; behind Sharon's room I can see a finch tree currently holding about a dozen of them -- they use it as a staging tree to the deck.
I hear people on the road. but I'm back in my Dexter leather slippers with rubber tread. Nice day for it.
