Put a deposit on a 2008 Subaru Forester.  Which the dealer will have to fetch from New Hampshire, because Wife refused to have a red car sitting in our driveway for the next 10 years or so, and the only other color the dealer has on-site with automatic transmission was white.  I will not drive a snow-bank colored car in Maine...

We could, of course, have gone to a 2009 model and gotten whatever color and accessories we wanted.  For even more money.

Congratulations. I'm with your wife on red cars. They do not especially appeal to me. Hope the new Forester serves you well. Mine has done pretty well, going on 8 years.

I tried to tell her that red was a safety color, people would pull over to the side of the road and get out of our way, thinking we were a fire engine. She insisted on a siren and flashing lights...
