So he's a hypocritical sleaze?  He's a politician.  Comes with the territory.  What's new?

I mostly agree with you. However, two thoughts: 1. He's based his entire political career on being a squeaky clean white knight. This does call that image seriously into question. 2. He paid $4700!!!! Talk about fiscal irresponsibility. The Mayflower's front desk could have set him up with a very nice local gal for a heck of a lot less.

I'm with Bill. It's not the sex per se thats the issue, it's the hypocrisy and the WTF factor.

OTOH, if we're demanding that Republican pols lose their jobs for gay bathroom sex, why should this guy get a pass? Certainly not because he's a Democrat, or because he was using a woman instead of a man...

It will, however, be interesting to hear if there's the kind of howling for his wife to dump him that Hillary Clinton has been hearing for the past 10 years.

That's the bit that makes me wonder whether it was about sex at all. It's either urban legend or just hearsay, but I've heard that a lot of men visit prostitutes just to have someone who is uncritical listen to them talk and talk. Wouldn't a psychiatrist/sex therapist earn that sort of money? Especially one who was told to be quiet about it all?

Well, at least he wasn't paying the top price of %5,000 per hour...only $4,700. I wonder why his hooker was discounted by three hundred bucks. What was she missing?
