Sunny morning

jhetleyIt won't last. But we do have sunshine and actual shadows out there, wan though the aspect may be. Last I checked, the weather folks had not backed down from their threat level.
Neighbor up the street died a couple of days ago, "Van" of Van's Texaco (service station at the end of our block, now a Chinese restaurant of questionable repute.) Cheerful old guy, Korean War vet, we used to see him out walking at the same time we took our regular evening stroll. And he took good care of the old '69 Valiant when we first moved into the neighborhood. With all the noise and fury and hate in the world, you tend to forget how many quiet decent people live in it.
