At the same time that Legislative and Executive Branches of our government are pushing a many-billions economic boost, they are cutting Federal support for state and local programs such as Medicaid...and law enforcement.

Interesting that those Federal block grants were an invention of the Reagan administration. Funny how the current Chief Executive purports to worship at the altar of St. Ron while gutting St. Ron's programs.

Honestly, nothing that happens in D.C surprises me anymore. Reasonably sane government actually might but I'm starting to think there's as much likelihood of that happening as there is of Sasquatch showing up at my door with his pet unicorn in tow and offering me a ride.

I probably should ask you whereabouts -- Wife grew up in the east side suburbs of Cleveland Her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc, still live there.
