Messing with Mother Nature

The maple tree a couple of houses to the north of us is looking knobby -- as in, I think some of the buds got faked out by our recent warmth (47F yesterday.) Also, the birches and aspens showed some branch color the other day. They'll be sorry. The birches, etc are natives and should be able to shut down again, but that maple is a European species and confused by our climate in the best of times.
We have a forecast of 8"-14" of snow tonight into tomorrow. This should make the ski trails usable again, and I may be healthy enough to take advantage. Haven't coughed out a lung in days now.
