Okay, in spite of having their noses rubbed in Pakistani Politics, Bhutto's son and husband are taking over her party.  Apparently the lust for power knows no bounds.

Her husband is an experienced operator in Pakistani politics. He's going in with his eyes wide open. Her son I feel a bit sorry for. I think he feels that he has to continue in his mother's and grandfather's footsteps.

Did you ever read Harold Lamb's stories about Khlit the Cossack and Abdul Dost, the loyal lieutenant of Jahanghir the Mugal? This whole story reminds me of Abdul Dost and the impossible situations he'd get into where he had to weigh Afghan tribal loyalty against Mugal feudal loyalty.

The only Harold Lamb stuff in our library seems to be biography and history, a lot of it "juvenile" -- I'll have to try snooping through it in person.
